What do we know about Culottes?

Culottes are an item of clothing, originally the knee-breeches commonly worn by gentlemen of the European upper-classes from the late Middle Ages or Renaissance through the early nineteenth century. Nowadays, they are also called wide cropped legs and look very stylish and elegant. Here are some style examples in a Collage I’ve created.
